Yes, the patient’s urine did appear to have hemoglobin. If time had permitted to test the amount of hemoglobin in the individual’s urine, the way it would’ve been tested as follows. First you would have to set up an assay to test the absorbance of the patient’s urine sample. The way this would be tested is that the patient’s urine would be subjected to spectrophotometer test with a wavelength that is outside of the range of red and brown because that is the color of the hemoglobin. The wavelength that should be used is anything below 540nm. It would be quantified by adding water. The blank would be water and the standard would also be water.
