Danielle Furman Michael Samuels Carrie Bino Shelby Hickman Joe Siderowicz Sociology Project For uur sociology experiment, our group studied how freshman students at The George Washington University would react if we showed up at their door with suitcases saying we were going to be living in their room for a few weeks. We did not expect the students to comply. Instead, we thought they would object and request to speak to a Housing Representative, or at least tell us that they don’t know anything about this and that we would have to stay somewhere else. However, our results surprised us and we came to find that the students were much more understanding and compassionate than we had predicted. Only two people did not let us into their room. When we went to the other rooms, the people who lived there were obviously not happy, but they were understanding of the situation and tried to make the most of it. One boy tried to delegate the problem and find a room with an extra bed. Another offered her air mattress, and another girl even apologized for how messy
