Michael Samuels 10/14/08 Doyle SMPA 110W GWU Financial Crisis Forbes ’ magazine rated George Washington University the most expensive college in the United States by $1,300. With the recent financial crisis sweeping across the nation, one might guess the focus at this university would be on parents paying tuition this upcoming semester. While that might be the case for many parents, the recent downturn in the economy has effected some of the students own personal investments. “In most of my business classes discussion has been focused around what is happening in the markets and how it might affect our future.” Said junior finance major Jonathon Sadow “It has been a two-fold depression, seeing the investments I’ve made and then discussing it with all my friends cause nobody can believe what is happening.” While Jonathon’s story may be unique for a 20-year old, it hardly seems surprising in today’s day and age. Heavily invested in technology stocks such as Apple, Jonathon has seen his portfolio drop significantly
