Other types of memory Reintegration – Cologne that triggers memories of something a long time ago. A trigger effect of a series of memories. Combining current information with prior knowledge. A retrieval of a prior memory State-Dependent memory – An internal cue that triggers a memory. Drug impair Example: Flashbulb – High distinctiveness. That memory is automatically stored. High emotion, like 9/11, the day president JFK was shot. You remember where you were when 9/11 happened but you don’t remember what you did the rest of the day. Organization of Long Term Memory Semantic network model Engaged in active organization as it is taken in. Logical Associations Clustering – put information together that are logical in their meaning. Groups of clusters that have meaning. Drum > Harp, flute, piano Association: Day Night Woods Trees Time Clock Retrieval – Trying to access stored information. In order for it to be retrieved it must be encoded
