The war of 1812 played a big role in the changing of many things. One thing it had a big impact over was nationalism. Due to this war and the outcome, many Americans decided it would be better to be united and stand together instead of fighting and going to war. The impact on the federal government was a heavy blow. Due to the war the government was in debt very deep debt. With this debt Alexander Hamilton devised a plan to overcome it and gain funds; this in turn led to the splitting of the government
