Introduction This application of this session long project will apply break even analysis to Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse. Using a specific product line I will establish a unit of measure and revenue per unit of sales. I will then break down the variable and fixed cost. With this information, a breakeven analysis will then be performed. Finally I will discuss any implication of this data and analysis. Selected Financial Data Lowe’s stocks more than 40,000 products in 20 distinct product categories. The top selling product line for FY 2006 was appliances “accounting account for 9%” 1 of annual sales or approximately “$4,193,000,000 billion dollars in total sales” 2 . Because of the shear number of individual products within the appliance line, I have selected to include the entire appliance product line as a whole. I will then break down available financial information by averaging
