In this story, there are two arguments posed. One is valid, the other sound. They are  both interesting statements, but only one can win. The first argument: “…you definitely need this vacuum cleaner!” is sound. It does not  portray the absolute truth, but since when does a traveling salesman speak entirely honest?  This type of argument is important because it enables the salesman to pitch, demonstrate, and  sell the product. The second argument: “…we already have a working vacuum cleaner!” is valid. There is

There is no beating around the bush, just the cold hard facts. If arguing a significant issue, it is best to use a combination of both argument types.
