1 Supporting a Position Assignment The coffee break comic strip poses an interesting scenario. In one corner there is the opportunity to make extra cash (labor free nonetheless). On the other side, morals and company devotion comes into play. Ultimately, the question at hand is whether or not Anita should choose to manipulate the payroll system. This issue becomes most noticeable in the last six slides. Anita uses suspended judgment when attempting to take her stance. Proof of this process being used can be seen in slides six through nine (“I dunno. Sounds risky…” “I’ll have to think about it.” “…I think what she’s doing is wrong…”). The last of these quotes is the proverbial “ace in the hole”. At this point Anita (even while out of money) is visibly bothered by what her friend has done. Now one can safely assume that her position will favor morality over personal gain. The “execution” article hosts a variety of questions that cross moral and legal boundaries.
