Second Paper (6-7 pages) Due: September 7th Guidelines: Close reading should be at the heart of your paper. Your work should connect small concrete observations to an argument about the work as a whole, and you should consider and analyze specific passages from your chosen text within your paper. It is crucial that your interaction with your chosen text be analytical: in order to successfully complete this assignment your paper must transcend plot summary. To that end, consider not just what happens in a text, but also think about how that text is constructed and presented, and about the stylistic and thematic choices that underlie the narrative. Your object is to develop and support an original, arguable thesis. Remember that a good thesis contains three crucial components: a “what” a “how” and a “so what.” Keep in mind also that a more complex claim is more arguable than a simpler, self-evident one.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
