ALGORITHM=SYSTEMATIC PROCEDURE? INFORMATION TOOL-IS ONE THAT ALLOWS US TO CHANGE THE CONFIGUARATION OF INFORMATION JUST LIKE PHYSICAL TOOLS LIKE SCREWDRIVERS AND HAMMERS THAT AMPLIFY AND CONCENTRATE FORCES AND THEREBY ALLOW US TO CHANGE THE CONFIGURATION OF PHYSICAL THINGS. COMPUTATION-IS A TRANSFORMATION FROM ONE OR MORE INPUTS TO AN OUTPUT. EX: 3+2-3 AND 2 ARE INPUTS OR ARGUMENTS THAT ARE TRANSFORMED BY AN OPERATOR TO AN OUTPUT. 1.2 -THE DEF OF COMPUTATION AS A TRANFORMATION FROM INPUTS TO OUTPUT IGNORES THE ISSUE OF WHERE THE INPUTS COME FROM. THESE INPUTS OFTEN COME FROM MEASUREMENTS!!!!!!!!!!! A MEASUREMENT(THE LENGTH OF AN OBJECT, VOLTAGE DIFFERENT BETWEEN 2 PTS IN A CIRCUIT, OR THE IQ OF A TEST SUBJECTS) ASSIGNS A VALUE(AN OUTPUT). -THE MEASUREMENT IS A TRANSLATING FROM AN INPUT-THE OBJECT OR EVENT- TO AN OUTPUT;A MEASUREMENT ITSELF IS A COMPUTATION. -----THE OBJECT TO BE MEASURED IS THE INPUT, THE MEASURING DEVICE IS THE OPERATOR, THE VALUE THAT YOU GET WHILE MEASURING OR OPERATING ON THE OBJECT IS THE OUTPUT. SO YOU GET A TABLE=OBJECT. YOU USE A RULER(OPERATOR) TO MEASURE ITS LENGTH=OUTPUT. -IN A COMPUTER-THE STATE OF A SYSTEM IS THE CURRENT CONFIGURATION OF THE INFORMATION STORED: THE CONTENTS AND ARRAGNEMENTS OF THE VARIOUS FORMS OF COMPUTER MEMORY NEW COMPUTATION DEFINITION-A COMPUTATIONS IS A TRANSITION FROM AN OLD STATE TO A NEW STATE.

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
