The Golden Sandal is very relatable to the Cinderella story. This is the story of Cinderella of the Middle East. The lead character Maha's father is away fishing all the time, due to this Maha is lonely and no one to comfort her. All that begins to change when Maha finds a magical fish. In return for mercy on his life, the fish promises to help Maha whenever she asks him. On the night Maha is forbidden to attend a grand ceremony to celebrate the oncoming wedding of a wealthy merchant's daughter, the fish promise helps Maha. His magic sets in motion a set of events that provide Maha with great happiness, and a glowing golden sandal is the key to it all. IV. Content Objectives: the objective is that students tell stories to be written down. Also, self- select books to read them. Language Objectives: narrate, describe, and explain with increasing specificity and detail as more English is acquired write using newly acquired basic vocabulary and content-based grade-level vocabulary.
