Pei-yu Hung Hung 1 US History International Mr. Dykeman Feb 26 2009 The Comparison of Weapon between the Civil War and the World War I Between the World War I and the Civil War, the weapons were different because the invention of new technology. In the history, weapon was really important for a country. It decided the strength of the country and revealed the power that the country had. For each of countries, they have to enhance their military power to prevent other countries’ attack. Then the winner of one side could control others or command the defeated nation and that were the main reasons for warfare. People had desire to gain power or authority. In the Civil War, the soldiers used simple weapons such as, gun with spear, bow and arrow, sword, and cannon to attack their enemies. In War World I, the weapon became more improved that people invented some new technology, such as machine gun, hand grenade, flamethrower, and poison gas.
