Pei-yu Hung Dec 8, 2008 Ms. Schlesinger US History My Diary Monday August 28, 1830 Today, when I was working in the field, I saw my master bring a black Africa slave from Savannah. That man looked like 20 years old. His African name was Arizonmashida, but now he was called “Robert”. He was strong and tall. He told me that he was captured by his native men. He said whether how strong he struggled or implored, those man sent him to the slave trade company. He had a family in Africa and he really missed them. I could see how sad he was through his words and face. His experience aroused my memory that I was also captured to here. Because we were similar, we soon became friends. Sunday Oct 15, 1830 As usual, I woke up at 5:30 this morning and went to rice field to work. My master was a nice man. After the work, he brought me clothes and shoes although they were used or damaged. Today was Sunday, so in the afternoon, I went to church with Robert. When we arrived at church, we saw there are some black slaves talking
