Alternate Edition w/ Journal; 8 th edition Course description : The ESS 4A class is designed to show students that becoming fit and well greatly improves the quality of their lives. Cardiovascular exercise is the focus of the class. Additionally, students are encouraged to make healthy lifestyle choices. Tactical skills will be taught through reading, lecture and active participation to help facilitate positive lifestyle change. Course Objectives : At the beginning and end of the quarter students will participate in four physical fitness tests including the 1.5 mile run, 10 minute swim, 1 minute curl-up, and maximum push-up tests.
