Next, let me introduce about the Olympic torch relay. Olympic torches are used for transporting the Olympic Flame from Olympia (Greece) to the Host City, up to the Olympic stadium. The history of Olympic torch relay is that the first summer relay took place In 1936 Berlin Olympic Games and the first winter relay took place during the 1952 Games in Oslo, the capital and largest city of Norway. The torch relay stands for Spirit, knowledge and life. The Beijing Olympic torch will be carried across all five continents, along the ancient "Silk Road" and 135 cities, covering 137,000 kilometers over 130 days. It is the longest route the flame has ever been carried. The Beijing Olympic torch relay will reach the world's highest peak, Mount Everest and It involves the most people in Games history. Olympic Mascots have become a main element of the Olympic image. the Olympic mascots have a lot of functions such as materialize the Olympic spirit, communicate the concepts of each Olympic Games promote the history and culture of the host city create a festive atmosphere for the Games. This picture is Beijing Olympic mascots The Mascots consists of five figures, officially named the Five Friendlies. They include Beibei the Fish, Jingjing the Panda, Huanhuan the Olympic Flame, Yingying the Tibetan Antelope, and Nini the Swallow. The first characters of names form a line that reads in English "Welcome to Beijing." The five mascots means happiness, prosperity, health, good luck and inspiration....
