(c) Stabilization As mentioned previously, many materials have been found which lessen the effects of thermal and photolytic degradation of PVC. The manner in which these stabilizers interfere with the degradation processes is complex and is not fully understood, despite a good deal of attention to the matter. However, although details obviously vary according to the type of stabilizer used, a number of common features have become clear.
