Topic 1: Fake NewsQuestions:1.Explain at least two ways fake news could affect the results of the upcoming 2020 Presidential elections?Fake news could affect the outcome of the upcoming 2020 Presidential elections as a result of the information that is spread to sway voters in the direction of the propagators' favorite candidate. One such way is through fake opinion polls or negative news about a candidate in an election (Varma,2019). Also, fake news could change the voting choice of enough people to affect the upcoming Presidential election because people’s attention will be divided. Fakenews influences elections with how the term can be used to disqualify certain media outlets. For example, if the term 'fake news' is applied to a news outlet then they have their credibility called into question and their biases are more open to criticism.2.What can companies like Facebook and Twitter do to stop users from spreading fake news? What can we, as consumers, do? What do you think would work, especially with younger users?
