Emphasis will be placed on atomic structure, chemical calculations, chemical reactions, thermochemistry, chemical bonding, and gases. Goal To provide you with an understanding of the basic chemical theory of chemical reactions, atomic structure, chemical bonding, periodicity, stoichiometry, thermochemistry (enthalpy), and gases. Objectives By the end of this course, you should be able to: Recognize and differentiate physical and chemical changes, mixtures, compounds, molecules, atoms and ions. Recognize and differentiate atomic components and particles. Write names and formulas of chemical compounds and differentiate between ionic and molecular compounds.
