CS116 Fall 2009 1 Assignment 4 Due: Tuesday, October 20 at 3:30 pm For this and all subsequent assignments, you are expected to use the design recipe when writing functions from scratch. The solutions you submit must be entirely your own work. Do not look up full or partial solutions on the Internet or in printed resources. Please read the course web page for more information on assignment policies and how to organize and submit your work. Be sure to download the interface file from the course web page and to follow all instructions listed in the style guide (on the web page). Specifically, your solutions should be placed in files a4qY.ss where Y is a value from 1 to 4. This assignment mostly tests your understanding of the material in CS116 Lecture Module 4, on accumulative recursion. Use local where possible; all helper functions must be contained within the main definition. If a function is used only once, as the argument to another function, use lambda to define that function. Do not use length or append and do not use your own versions of these functions for your own use. On this assignment, do not use abstract functions such as map , filter , build-list , etc. You must use accumulative recursion (rather than structural or generative recursion) in each question. A note on online submission: if there is a problem at the deadline for the assignment,
