1.1 8.7 Determining the Cam Profile Given , the cam surface can be determined either graphically or analytically. ) ( f y For accurate cams, the analytical method and CNC milling machines should be used to design the cam profile. For low-speed cams, a graphical method and manual machining are adequate. For both graphical and analytical approaches, the inverted method is used to determine the cam geometry.
