Lecture 26 06/05/2010 10:41:00 Case: Proud of the Strength I Had Sexuality  Intimacy – a lot of relations with boys, none with girls (lack of chumship) Identity – Classic Gilligan. Intimate relations begin in college  Psychological problems and youth development – Parents fought. Dad left the  family, and did not tell. Suppressed from feelings.  Case: The Simple Beauty of a Conversation Negative Identity – feels like only stutterer, although not true; pretended he  didn’t care. Better be bad than nobody at all   Psychosocial problems o Risk Factors o Protective Factors Intimacy – healing problems through relationships Sexuality  Case: Falling From My Pedestal  Internalizing disorders (anorexia, depression) – used to handle problems with  family. Way to maintain control of something. Identity – hates her name. not her true identity. Gilligan girl.
