Histogram of leaves\$V1 leaves\$V1 Frequency 20 40 60 80 100 0 5 10 15 20 25 30 35 b. > median(leaves\$V1) [1] 68 c. The mean leaf length is 67.97727mm, though the median leaf length is 68mm. Since the histogram is in a “bell-curve” form, it is expected that the mean and median would be very close. This is because there are about as many leaves longer than the average length as there are leaves that are shorter than the average. Further, the bell-curve shape tells us that the distribution is similar on both the longer end and shorter end. d. About 99% of the data should fall within the range of the mean – 3*standard deviation and the mean + 3*standard deviation. The standard deviation is 13.71880mm, so 99% of the data should fall between 67.97727 - (3*13.71880) and 67.97727 + (3*13.71880), which is 26.82087mm and 109.49367mm.

### What students are saying

• As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

Kiran Temple University Fox School of Business ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

Dana University of Pennsylvania ‘17, Course Hero Intern

• The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
