Five unprofessional communications that can sabotage a career are: speaking in up talk, writing wit incomplete sentences, misspelled words, internet using email, answering machine outgoing messages with strident background weird sounds; joking messages, telephone/cell usage. 2. Listening skills are important to all employees, supervisors, and executives there are no such thing as who should have the best listening skills; they all should be equal. Everyone plays an important role within the company, so it is very important that everyone have great listening skills. 3. Business writing differs from academic and other writing because it has to be audience oriented, purposeful and economical. Most business writing is also to inform promotes goodwill and make you look good in the eyes of the audience. Academic writing main purpose is to just complete the assignment and to make you look good and receive a good grade. 4.
