Negative connotation- misleading, deceiving, hoaxing, brainwashing. B. Bias 1. Positive- a commitment to a position after very long study. 2. Negative- closed-minded blindness we saw before when we spoke of bigotry a. Bigotry- chauvinism, racism, intolerance of “the different”. C. Propaganda systems 1. American dream, pop culture, institutional churches, formal schooling, and peers and parents. 2. Vice- anti-human conduct 3. Virtue-life-enhancing conduct 4. No problem with the propaganda as long as you know its propaganda. 5. Freedom depends totally on your own willingness to surrender preconceptions, unexamined certitudes and vested interest. 6.
