Capital punishment is a subject that has been argued in our society since its conception. In the article, “Execution rules still inhumane”, not only is capital punishment being argued but the procedures for the entire process are being questioned. The article focuses on the “truth” that capital punishment is practiced. The argument is based on the procedure and problems with administering the “death penalty.” The principle issue of the article is if the rules of executing an inmate are humane. The other issue of the article concerns the “cocktail” administered in the lethal injection process. The question that is raised concerns the principle of cruel and unusual punishment. Are the chemicals being used causing pain and are they consistent with the State of Florida’s rules on humane and lawful executions? I am torn when it comes to capital punishment. I believe in the concept, “eye for an eye.” I believe the circumstances involved are what determine if the death penalty is applicable to a particular case.
