Islam began in the Arabian Peninsula Before Islam, Arabia was divided into tribes and cites. Each city had gods and goddess The Kabba was covered in symbols representing the myriad demons, djinn, demigods and other assorted creatures which represented the profoundly polytheistic environment of pre-Islamic Ancient Arabia.
