Jasimine Davis Animal Behavior Assignment Bio-L12 April 3, 2020 Koala Koala bears are covered in grey and white fur, sometimes may be brown, with a black nose. Their heads are large in size and they have big fluffy ears. According to nationalgeographic.com, its scientific name is called Phascolarctos cinereus. A koala’s average life span is about 20 years, and they only eat plants, which makes them an herbivore (Jurisdiction). During mating seasons, a koala male will draw attention to himself by marking trees with their scent and getting into fights in competition. According to animals.mom.me, female koalas experience estrus to find themselves a mate (Ryan). Their habitat ranges from islands, forests, and inland woodlands. Koala’s only live in Australia, they like to climb trees, and they only eat Eucalyptus leaves. I evaluated my animal on the San Diego Zoo website, which they had live camera view on the koalas. The area was sunny weather, windy, quiet, shaded in a few areas, and extremely wooded. I didn’t see any people around. One the website, it didn’t tell me the time of day, but it
