2 Week One Assignment The Constitutional Convention was held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from May 25 to September 17, 1787. The purpose of this convention was to address issues that the United States were having. During this time the United States was being governed under the Articles of Confederation. The initial idea for this convention was to change some of the Articles of Confederation. However the delegates that attended the convention completely did away with the Articles of Confederation and formed the United States Constitution. This was not an easy task, many of the Founding Fathers had different agendas and throughout the entire convention there was a lot of compromise that took place, even doing so there remained some that refused to have anything to do with the Constitution and refused to sign. In this short essay the writer will discuss the Constitutional Convention and how it led to the creation of the US Constitution. The writer will also discuss representation which is one of the major reasons for the Constitutional Convention. Some delegates had great concerns with many of the civil liberties such as slavery (right to be free) and the right to vote to only name two, the writer will also discuss this.
