Course Syllabus APPM 4350/5350 Fall 2010 Methods in Applied Mathematics — Fourier Series and Boundary Value Problems (BVPs) Instructor: M. J. Haberman, Pearson/Prentice Hall, 4th ed., 2004. Exams: Two exams will be given in the evening. e expected dates/times/rooms ±or these exams are: Tues. Oct. 12, 5:30–7:00pm, BESC 180 and Wed. Dec. 8, 5:00–7:00pm, RAMY C250 Homeworks: ere will be homework assignments due about every two weeks, usually on Mondays. You must do the homework regularly. Doing and understanding the homework is extremely important in this class. ey are challenging. Do not wait until the last minute! Project: A written report and talk will be required on a topic relevant to the course. e talk will be approximately 15 min. plus 5 min.
