Time Management Strategies For College Freshman by Jessica Nesmith The first year of college can be an exciting time. It can also be very STRESSFUL because it marks a  turning point in a young adult's life. Not only may this be your first time leaving home, but you  will be exposed to choices and challenges never faced before. New friends, a new place to live, and  a variety of activities are on the agenda, and the reality of being able to incorporate all of these  into your life becomes of the utmost importance. Namely, how to manage your time EFFECTIVELY  so that you can succeed in your studies, but not let your social life as well as your personal needs  fall to the wayside. YOU'RE THERE TO LEARN Before your studies begin, you should sit down and assess your STUDY habits. Although you may  have been a good student in high school, the same study methods may not produce the same good  grades in college. Remember, you are under a totally new set of circumstances in college, and you  will no longer have your parents to remind you to study. In addition to assessing your skills, think  about your goals. Do you want to be an "A" or a "C" student? The amount of study time ALLOTTED  will vary according to your goals. Consider non-academic goals such as whether you will be  working, playing sports, or participating in extracurricular activities, and how much time you  would like to spend socializing. All of these will have to fit into the time left after you sleep, eat,

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

I cannot even describe how much Course Hero helped me this summer. It’s truly become something I can always rely on and help me. In the end, I was not only able to survive summer classes, but I was able to thrive thanks to Course Hero.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
