Health Education 44 – Chapter 16 1. As population levels increase, countries’ resources are over loaded. In many parts of the world, governments struggle to meet the needs of the increasing numbers of citizens. The global population explosion is not distributed equally. Many countries have enacted strict population control measures or encouraged their citizens to limit the size of their families. Education may be the single biggest contributor to zero population growth. As educated levels of women increase and women achieve equality in pay and job status, fertility rates decline. 2. The main sources of the air pollution are: sulfur dioxide, particulates, carbon monoxide, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and lead. This is what we can do to improve the air pollution: a. Try to walk or ride a bike rather than take a car. b. Try to carpool with others. c. Try to save fuel by not using the air conditioner. d.
