Tattoo and body piercing 2 History of Aztec tattoos When I first started researching about the history of tattoos, I came across a lot of information about different cultures and why they would get tattoos. I had to think and pick which culture I wanted to write about the history of tattoos. I picked the Aztec culture because behind each tattoo that an Aztec warrior would get was a meaning to it. The Aztecs are known for their intricate and detailed patterns. Behind Aztec tattoos are certain designs and shapes that are sacred to them. The Aztecs were one of the most powerful cultures in history, dominating all they area which we now call Mexico. Between the fourteenth and fifteenth century the Spanish explores brought a destruction of their society and almost complete genocide. The Aztecs where extremely structured and had a social and spiritual code which dominated their daily lives. Aztec tattoos
