Learning Objective (from Topic 1):
Students will be able to solve problems involving addition and
subtraction without any tools in 15 minutes.
Example of formative assessment that aligns with content standard: Exit ticket allowing students to
understand addition and subtraction by at least 20.
Pre-assessment: To assess students’ prior knowledge , using goggle classroom to ask the class two
questions based off of addition and subtraction- matching definitions and two simple problems with
addition and subtraction. Ex. 13 + 7=
and 20 – 8 =.
Formative assessment: To access students’ progress, that aligns to the standard, having the students
complete an exist ticket that consist of solving a math problem with addition or subtraction by at least
20. Ex. 40- 15 = or 30 + 20 = and a word problem that consist for solving for addition or subtraction
by at least 20. Ex. Tiara has 35 candy bars and sells 20 candy bars, how many does she have left?
