8/27/10 Origin of universe = big bang =~14 billion years ago Hubble (1930's) the man not the satellite (studied Doppler effect with sound waves and light waves, used a telescoped to see red shift/ light Doppler effect) galaxies moving far away move faster. Red shift (Doppler shift)(wavelength of light to determine origin of universe) Milkey Way (galaxy)- units of matter Solar system- piece of galaxy earth. creation of H and O, needed to make H2O nucleosynthesis- process of fusion (occurs at extremely hot temps.) H combine to make He, 4 He make 1 O. H is most abundant element in universe. still dont have earth after BBT, gas and dust swirling together. from that we get planets and sun Solar system observations. -Almost all planets orbit the sun in common plane -planets al orbit in same direction -planetary orbits are mostly circular -the sun has most of solar system mass -inner planets are rocky, metallic -outer planets are gaseous.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
