Several countries make use of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM). In the United
Sates, complementary and alternative medicine is used by almost 40 percent of adults and 10
percent of children. For this assignment, I will provide an overview of Herbs and Diets as an
example of complementary and alternative medicine in the United States. Man has been moving
from simple diets that consist of vegetables, meat, fruits and grains and preferring diets that are
made up of foods that are rich in complex carbohydrates, oils and fats over a few past centuries

. Chronic diseases have been popular in the society due to effects of
nutritional deficiencies and excesses. Herbal and dietary approaches have attempted to balance
