Erikson’s Stages For each of Erikson’s Development Stages, list the dilemma that he believed needs to be resolved, give a description of this time (What major life events are happening?), and include an example of what actions the person may take to resolve it. Infant = trust vs. mistrust; Infant is totally dependent on others for care. Infant must learn to trust caregivers to provide for needs. Toddler- In the second stage, the autonomy-versus-shame-and-doubt stage (ages 1to 1and half to 3 years), toddlers develop independent and autonomy if exploration and freedom are encouraged, or they experience shame, self-doubt, and unhappiness if they are overly restricted and protected. According to Erikson, the key to the development of autonomy during this period is that the child’s caregivers provide the appropriate amount of control. Young Child- According to Erikson, the period during which children ages 3 to 6 years

Adolescent-The developmental growth stage between childhood and adulthood. Young Adult- Young adult (psychology), persons aged 20 to 40; Middle-aged Adult- Middle age is the period of age be young adult but before the onset of old ages. Various attempts have been made to define this age, which is around the third quarter of the average life span of human beings. Older Adult- Old age consists of ages nearing or surpassing the average life span of human beings, and thus the end of the human life span....
