2QN AAnswerDifferent approaches have been used theoretically to explain various aspects of people's culturalpractices and behaviors. Changes in society can come in different ways, and two of the theoriststhat have been recognized for their contribution to how they conceptualize culture, civilization, and the study of human social relations are Sigmund Freud and Lewis Henry Morgan.1Thesetwo anthropologists made a significant contribution to explaining different changes in society.Sigmund Freud was known to be one of the greatest minds in the 20th century, and his studieshave made a significant contribution towards explaining human social and cultural relations. Themain fundamental concepts that were developed by Freud are those that are related to theprinciples of reality and pleasure principles. He brought a new perspective in explaining humanbehavior and ideas of sexuality. Before his time, issues of sexuality were considered to beobscene and were not discussed publicly because of how they were valued in society.2Womenand children were not supposed to mention these ideas in the open or any institution. However, with increasing public concerns and the continuous diseases that resulted from sexual activities,it became impossible to change the view on sexuality and sexual relations. Sigmund Freud gavea theory on how the human mind operates together with other ideas of egocentrism.1Fortes, Meyer.Kinship and the Social Order.: The Legacy of Lewis Henry Morgan. His social evolution theory was later on developed by the other theorists and isstill relevant in the world today. Lewis Morgan is known for his contribution to the idea ofkinship and social structures when advocating for his theories in social evolution andethnography. The theory of social evolution was mainly contributed and promoted by lewisHenry Morgan who identified the changes within the society. According to him, the society hasalways changed and will continue to change with the introduction of new technologies. Thesechanges can be explained from the production perspective. Lewis advocated for the ideas thathold the societies together as he proposed the concept of the earliest human institutions thatexisted domestically as being matrilineal clans and not the patriarchal families the way it isbelieved by other researchers.
