Drew Blumenherst October 2010 WA2 1 st Grade Attempting to recall my earliest memory took some concentration because I do not remember much of my childhood, only specific images and unique experiences. However, after scanning over my past, I definitely remember sitting at my desk in Ms. Brown’s first grade class. This moment in my life history stands out because of the unforgettable class pets. I remember the bright yellow little baby chicks chirping and wobbling around the snout of a happy full-grown Labrador. I am almost positive they thought the dog was their mother; and because they were so close to my desk and I saw them everyday for a year, the sounds and colors have been engrained into my memory. The emotional tone left a positive impression of my elementary education; I only wish every class was as enjoyable. I would give the vivacity of this 1 st grade scene a four on a scale from one to five, because it is one of a few grades where I can name my teacher, classmates, and the layout of the classroom.
