There are two workbook tasks to be completed this semester. All workbook tasks must be submitted by the due date and time in the HMA278 labeled Assignment Box on the 10th floor of the BA building, located just outside the lifts. Workbook tasks should be stapled in the top left-hand corner and inserted in a single plastic cover/envelope with the required cover sheet. A copy of the cover sheet is provided for each task. . Workbook tasks may be typed or neatly handwritten. All relevant SPSS outputs should be attached as an appendix. Appropriate graphs and tables of statistics should be included in the main body of the report . DO NOT place large SPSS tables full of irrelevant statistics in the body of your report. If there are just a few statistics, include them in the text. If you need to include a table of statistics, type up a new table in the correct format, containing just the relevant information. Ensure that you clearly label all tables and graphs with appropriate titles and table/figure numbers. If you are unsure what tables/graphs are appropriate in the main body of the report ask your tutor For instructions on modifying the tables and figures produced by SPSS, see pages 176 to 191 of the text. For instructions on transferring SPSS output to a Word document, see page 192 of the text. We expect that you will try the relevant exercises specified in the learning guide before trying the workbook tasks. You will not be given any direct assistance on the workbook tasks. You may, however, be given assistance with similar exercises in the learning guide/notes/text. If you have any problems with a workbook task talk to one of the tutors before the task is due in so that they can give you some direction. 1
