Ryan Robinson 10/20/2010 Bigger, Stronger, Faster The advancement of medicine has led to many things, but none as controversial as steroids. Before they were introduced into the realm of professional sporting they were seen to be perfectly normal way of life for those who used them. These professional athletes are linked to the steroids as being a “dangerous class.” The athletes aren’t dangerous in a social way. They are an influence upon our children. As seen in the movie Chris grew up idolizing athletes as many kids do but when he found out that his idols were hypocrites his faith in them vanished. They even may take steroids since their role model is doing it. But the media has major role in portraying these athletes as a “dangerous class.” The way it conveys steroids distorts the real truth. They make it seem as if its only professional athletes taking steroids. Like in the movie there were mainly clips of major league baseball players being tried for use of steroids.
