Principle of segregation: each individual diploid organism possesses 2 alles for any particular characteristic. These 2 alleles separate when gametes are formed. Principle of independent assortment: alleles at different loci separate independently of one another Mitosis: G1, cell growth G0, cells may enter G0, a non dividing phase or G1/S check point, cells are committed to divide after this check point S, DNA replication G2, cells prepare for mitosis G2/M check point, cells are committed to divide Interphase, chromosomes relaxed prophase, chromosomes condense, 2 chromatids, mitotic spindle forms prometaphase, nuclear membrane disintegrates, spindle microtubules make contact with chrom metaphase, chromo line up on the metaphase plate anaphase, sister chromatids separate and move toward opposite poles telophase, chromo arrives at poles, nuclear membrane reforms and chrom relax cytokinesis, cytoplasm divides Probability: 1.
