1 SM 446 COURSE ACTIVITIES OVERVIEW This course is divided into two parts: Part 1 covers the textbook material in Security Awareness: Applying Practical Security in Your World 2ed (abbreviated Sec Aware ) and Part 2 covers the textbook material in Security+ Guide to Network Security Fundamentals 2ed Update (abbreviated Sec Update ). SEC AWARE (Part 1) For each chapter you will: 1. READ the textbook chapter 2. WATCH the lecture video 3. DO EITHER the Hands-On Project OR the Case Project Note: Students may choose to do either the Hands-On Project or written Case Project (the specific projects are listed below). The Hands-On Projects may require specific operating systems or hardware on your computer. If you do not have these on your computer then you must do the written Case Project instead. When submitting the Hands-On Projects you should create a Microsoft Word document with multiple screen shots embedded AND an explanation of each screen shot to demonstrate that you have successfully completed the activity. 4. DO the chapter review questions 1-15 5. TAKE the practice test (Your score must be over 70%; you can retake it an unlimited number of times but the last score counts) 6. TAKE the chapter test (You can retake it an unlimited number of times but the last score counts) Note: Practice tests in Blackboard will not appear until you have submitted your review questions. For example, the Practice Test on Chapter 1 will not appear until you have submitted the online review questions for Chapter 1. Chapter tests in Blackboard will not appear until you have scored over 70% on your practice test. 7. TAKE the comprehensive midterm exam on Sec Aware SEC UPDATE (Part 2) For each chapter you will: 1. READ the textbook chapter 2. WATCH the VTC video 3. DO EITHER the Hands-On Project or the Case Project Note: Students may choose to do either the Hands-On Project or written Case Project. The specific projects are listed below. The Hands-On Projects may require specific operating systems or hardware on your computer. If you do not have these on your computer then you must do the written Case Project instead. 4. DO the chapter review questions 5. TAKE the comprehensive final exam on Sec Update
