Lecture 1 Management  is working with  and through  individuals  and groups  in order to achieve  desired goals . With: develop your interpersonal skills, learn how to deal with other people. If  proper groups, more effective. Through: lines of communications between different levels.  Must be able to delegate (an unnatural act), work through others.  Can’t do everything alone. Can only effectively manage 7 people.  (span of executive control) – depends on position and level of  business.  A good manager puts good personal around him. He cannot  do himself. You have to know what your strengths and  weaknesses are so that certain people are placed to fill the  weakness you pocess. Individuals: we are all the same, yet unique. Haven’t had the same  experiences. While we have the same needs, what where we place our  emphasis.   Groups: whole different dynamics. 85% of industries done in groups. Different
