Concert Report The famous musical prodigy, Sarah Chang performed with pianist Andrew von Oeyen at the University of California Santa Barbara’s Campbell Hall on Friday, February 26, 2010. The talented duet played the following that night: Sonatensatz by Johannes Brahms, “Sonata No. 3 in D minor, Op. 108” by Johannes Brahms, Fantasy by Christopher Theofanidis and “Sonata for Violin and Piano” by Cesar Franck. Only approximately two hours long, the concert seemed short but the amazement of their performance left the audience talking with astonishment throughout the night. Captivated by the gifted musicians, the overall performance was memorable but the piece that stood out the most was Cesar Franck’s “Sonata for Violin and Piano,” Allegretto poco mosso. It had a combination of slow and soft and yet fierce with the empowerment of the melody. Sarah Chang and Andrew von Oeyen seemed most passionate when playing this piece, in my opinion to save the best performance for last. The event was a lot more impressive than I
