1. Place Ketoconazole into the apparatus: 900 ml of 0.1N HCl for 30 minutes running at 50rpm. Ultraviolet absorption at 270 nm and not less than 80% should be dissolved after 30 minutes. 2. Immerse the basket in water at room temperature for five minutes. Then operate the apparatus using simulated gastric fluid as the immersion fluid. After 1 hour of operation in simulated gastric fluid TS, lift the basket from the fluid, and observe the tablets: the tablets show no evidence of disintegration, cracking, or softening. Operate the apparatus, using simulated intestinal fluid TS. Lift the basket from the fluid, and observe the tablets: all of the tablets disintegrate completely. 3. The hand filled capsules (1.26%) had the lowest %RSD when compared to the machine filled capsules (2.8%) and machine compressed tablets (1.55%). The hand filled capsules had the lowest %RSD because I was able to measure the amount of content that was in the capsule and had the control of adding or removing contents if the measured weight
