Agencies 2 While compiling a list of local human service agencies in my state, Maryland, I found more agencies than I knew what to do with. I live on the lower Eastern Shore of Maryland bordering Delaware. Many of these agencies I want to investigate further, but for the sake of this assignment I chose to concentrate on Catholic Charities and the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore. While both of these agencies appear to be available on a nationwide existence, they both are located within 10 miles of my residence. Both these agencies are geared towards helping the lower income people of my community. When looking at Catholic Charities, they have more than fifty programs they are involved with any given day that range from adoption services to getting help paying for your heat. They offer confidential pregnancy issues, homeless shelters for families and prescription assistance. I believe this organization is based on the catholic faith, so their desire to help is
