Forer’s article, “ How Your Birth Order Influences Your Life Adjustment,” she claims that birth order plays an important role in shaping one’s attitudes, personality and relationships with their parents. She begins the article by explaining how birth order affects children’s relationship with their parents. The only child is rarely pressured to be mature, for instance, they carry a “self perception” of being a child into adulthood. The oldest child tends to be more parental with his siblings and he sees himself as more capable of doing things. The middle child, faces less pressure about meeting the parent’s expectations. They also feel able to do things by themselves but they also seek for help sometimes.
