II Professor Holman April 11, 2020 My Choice The story “The Choice” by Edith Warton brings up the subject of extra-marital affairs and if those who have them should be subject to criminal prosecution. In my own opinion, I do not think that having an affair is a criminal offence as many things could lead to someone cheating. In the story the woman who is cheating ends up saving her husband rather than the man she was having an affair with. In the story Isabel, the woman who is cheating on her husband sneaks out of her house to go meet a man by the name of Austin in the boathouse. While she and him were there, Isabel’s husband, Wrayford, came to the boathouse to check on the new boat he had recently purchased. When Wrayford showed up at the boathouse, the couple was panicking and the two men ended up falling into the lake. Isabel tried to save Austin, but ended up saving Wrayford instead. Isabel says that she wished Wrayford would die in an accident. In the story she says, “’People do die…
