Deniti Jeffries Checkpoint: WK 1 Theories of Biology There are 7 major theories of biology: evolution by natural selection, biological classification, inheritance, cells, bioenergetics, homeostasis, and the ecosystem. Evolution by Natural Selections is the explanation of the variety living things and how they manage in life. Natural Selection consists of two parts: species and their abilities transform over a period of time and the mechanism for this species change is called natural selection. Biological Classification is the classification of the ways the are similar and different. Cells theory is that all organisms are made up of cells, and cells are made up of cells. Ecosystem is organisms interacting with each other and with their environments. A change in any part of biological community or the physical environment invariably causes changes in other parts.

Unformatted text preview: Inheritance is a theory of how certain traits of one generation are passed on from past generations. Homeostasis is the property of either an open system or a closed system, especially a living organism; that regulates its internal environment so as to maintain a stable, constant condition. Bioenergetics is the energy that powers life and operates according to the same rules that govern energy in the universe. During my research I found an article on the Evolution by Natural Selection theory. In this article it is said that someone has came up with a new theory suggesting that Darwin was wrong when he came up with this theory. This article can be found at:
