Meiosis on the other hand is also a process in which cells are divided. Meiosis is necessary in order for living organisms to reproduce sexually. In animals, meiosis produce gametes, such as sperm and eggs. In other organisms such as fungi and mold, meiosis produces spores for reproduction. If it wasn’t for meiosis, there would be no possible way for living organisms to reproduce sexually, because the gametes needed to reproduce can’t be made any other way....
