Mitosis and Meiosis Week 3 Checkpoint Deniti Jeffries Mitosis and Meiosis are two very important processes when it comes to the survival of living organisms. These two processes play a big role in the way living organisms live and function on a daily basis. It is amazing that the Mitosis and Meiosis have so much of an importance in the life of these organisms. This things are essential to life of any living organisms. Meiosis on the other hand is also a process in which cells are divided. Meiosis is necessary in order for living organisms to reproduce sexually. In animals, meiosis produce gametes, such as sperm and eggs. In other organisms such as fungi and mold, meiosis produces spores for reproduction. If it wasnt for meiosis, there would be no possible way for living organisms to reproduce sexually, because the gametes needed to reproduce cant be made any other way....
